Hello I’m Owain K the Curator of Colourbox…
Not one, but two of the UK’s finest heavyweight vinylists have been lovingly selected to inaugurate the very first Colourbox night on Saturday 14th November…
Kicking off in style, I am very pleased and excited to welcome Kelvin Andrews alongside Steve Kotey for an evening of dedicated dance floor dalliance.
For the unitiated, Kelvin Andrews is a party-hungry DJ who has more history than most. Better known for his production work as “Sure is Pure” in the ’90s and “Soul Mekanik” in the ’00s, Kelvin learned his trade in the legendary acid house arena “Golden” in Stoke, having since played all around the world taking in Japan, Australia, Germany, Italy, and Ibiza along the way.
His latest residency is with Hamish Anderson at their night ‘Wonk’ @ 205 Club in New York. He’s also a regular at Fabric, Turnmills, The Cross, 333, The End, Electric Chair, Aficionado, Lowlife and countless other underground word-of-mouth affairs . Expect a healthy mix of soul, funk, disco, classics, rarities and the odd balearic belter.
Steve Kotey, self confessed horder of 12″ gems and oddities, proprietor of the might fine Bear Funk records also drops by to pay us a visit and lay down the law of boogie styled electro grooves.
What more do I need to say?
Bring your dancing shoes…
