PEOPLE! Are we EXCITED about launching BA-BA-BOOM! this Saturday (7th Nov). Of course we’re HEAD THUMPING about the acts we got lined up (below) and the new rhythm-intersections we are lining up in the residents set (Baile Funk / Baltimore / Bollywood / Baseline / Brazil / Bhangra). SOLID!
(((((((just so happens, by the way, that I was hanging out round Baltimore way just yesterday. Shared contacts with local DJs who we’ll try and bring to Cardiff sometime. & I was 30m from both Barack Obama & Saul Williams on the same day. Not everyone can say that))))))).
BUT, to be heart felt for a moment, the thing we are MOST EXCITED about is the venue itself. It’s with pride, anticipation, and a sense of responsibility, that we curate the opening Saturday of what, we believe, will be a significant contribution to an already lovable city. These promoters, owners, and co-ordinators have energy. They have ideas. They have adrenalin and they want to share it. The agenda is to entertain and challenge. To do something different, to do something dancefloor. That’s exactly what we at Ba-Ba-Boom! headquarters are in this game for, and Cardiff Arts Institute is perfect for us to do it. A lot of people are going to have a lot of good times in this space. You going to be one of them?
