MAE after Mae West the Hollywood movie star, playwright and sex symbol who BECAME a pin-up in her late thirties. Mae WROTE, DIRECTED, PRODUCED her own plays entitled Sex, The Drag, The Constant Sinner amongst others and was even jailed in 1927 for “corrupting the morals of youth” and being a supporter of gay rights.
