We are darn proud to announce the completion of our first 2010 commission for Artwork inside the CAI.
Iain Sellar has already adorned our walls in the CAI with printwork (‘gas station bop’/'mucky chops’ posters) but we wanted something a little more permanent to stare at…
Hence
Skull Lord 2010.
- Stage one
- Stage 2
- stage 3
- All kneel before him!
I asked Iain, where on earth this inspriation came from and this is his explanation..
Spike, you asked for me to write a bit about what ended up on the wall of your lovely venue, so here goes…. errm… I drawed a big skull lord…. Is that ok?…. so… Basically, I found myself reading about a group of ‘humanoid’ skeletons that had been found in Pennsylvania, in the 1880′s. The skeletons were anatomically normal apart from the fact they were seven feet tall and had horns growing from their skulls. For some reason this kind of thing appeals to me and I figured that one of these beasts could watch over all the forthcoming quality nights at the CAI.
