In our high pressure world of instant gratification no one has time to wait for entertainment. You want it now and if you don’t get it you just change the channel or download something you do want.
Dirtbox is the live comedy show for the Attention Deficit Disorder generation.
Combining stand up, sketches, improv and film all served up in small chunks of no more than 5 minutes. It’s like flicking through the channels of live TV and downloading joy directly into your brain.
Playing the part of the remote control is Dan Mitchell , a comedian with more energy than a 6 year old child who has just drunk his own bodyweight in Sunny D. He loves drawing pictures(mainly of willies, boobs and monkeys with hats) and he once owned an owl. He is a regular on Radio Wales and is available on DVD in his pants. *Fact: he is the inventor of the Monkey Helmet.
The line up is in constant flux with people coming from far and wide to entertain.
Some of the faces you may or may not see are :
Becky Brynolf is a writer and comedy performer who tries her ruddy hardest never to miss a Dirtbox. Likes: pies, books, rude noises. Dislikes: clubs, sprouts, Warrington.
Becky was the first person to wear a monkey helmet.
Adam Gilder is a bearded poppet with an unusual hat and a sense of irony and absurdity that could bring America to its knees.
Gareth Brand is an up and coming comedian with a mind like a sack of electirc eels eating Haribo. As well as stand up he writes Roys Day, a twisted and bizarre Live Action Animation.
We also have further sketches from Guksack, a group of Bristol based film makers who’s material went down a storm last time.
