This summer has been extra prolific it seems for Cardiff’s burgeoning Electronic music scene. Some top quality releases and a real high quality standard that has many people looking at the scene here as one to watch. Of course it doesn’t always feel like that when you’re here so as with all CUM nights we really celebrate what amazing talent we’ve got in this city.
Monky
An active force on the Cardiff scene since his turntablist days with Optimas Prime, he truly found his calling however with the advent of Dubstep. Both him and long term partner in Prime – Stagga, have developed sounds that are unique to the scene and have gained them a strong reputation, with Radio 1 plays from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs, Rob Da Bank and Huw Stephens. With a sound that is hard to pin down and floats around the outskirts of Dubstep and into the future, Monky has a lot of love from the scene’s heavy hitters such as N Type and Starkey and if recent shows in the US are anything to go by, there’s a definite worldwide appreciation for the sound he’s bringing.

Don Leisure
Since first turning his hand to producing whilst working with Dillinja & Lemon D’s Valve Recordings, Don Leisure has received some massive plays under his Jamal moniker from the likes of Goldie, Chase & Status, Fabio and Amon Tobin to name but a few. Now with a new name and a new sound that veers more towards the Dubstep and Post Dilla Future Soul / Hip hop style, his supporters are different but no less distinguished, with the likes of Martyn, Illum Sphere and Alex Nut digging both his solo stuff and the Darkhouse Family project, which he pilots alongside Welsh super producer Metabeats (look out for the excellent Family Trees EP on Fat City Recordings).

Ill Diddy aka Didz
A founding father of the Welsh Dubstep scene and an integral part of the Cardiff music fraternity for many years as producer and DJ for The Brothahood, one of the city’s more positive Grime crews. His Dubstep and Future Garage productions have allowed him to shine even more with plenty of soul and emotion put into the mix plus his selecting skills are second to none.

Rollo
A Dubstep producer / DJ, who is fast making something of a reputation for himself. He is resident for both CYNT and Neuropol and is also part of the Juvenile Scum records lot as one half of Asbros alongside Exotope.
The Towel
When going 12 rounds with a bag full of floor filling tunes, guaranteed the artist formally known as James Size will never throw in…
