Welsh Dubstep Champion Returns Home

The prodigal son returns, Cardiff’s very own Dubstep don flies back in from Berlin for a special one off show.

With a new single due on Slit Jockey (run by US Dubstep supremo Starkey) and an album coming in the New Year on Rag & Bone (who also released his massive hits ‘Sick As Sin’ and ‘Face Get Splat’ – also due to be featured on the ‘Adventures In Dubstep’ compilation from Ministry Of Sound) we figured it was about time to bring Stagga back for a long overdue set in his hometown.

Friday 22nd October: Stagga – Wild For The Night by cardiffartsinstitute

Having been a part of the Welsh music scene for a while as a member of Hip-hop DJ / Scratch crew Optimas Prime (alongside long time partner in crime Monky, who has also been gaining a strong reputation lately) and Dead Residents, it wasn’t until he turned his hand to Dubstep that Stagga’s career truly took off.

Now with headline sets in the States under his belt, 2 big sets in Glastonbury Festival this year (both solo and with his fellow Chrome Kids), as well as various world wide appearances, it finally looks like all his hard graft has started to pay off . We’ve heard his tracks dropped by everybody from N Type to Mary Anne Hobbs, Gaslamp Killer to Diplo (Major Lazer) and we can’t wait to hear them dropped by the man himself through Cardiff Arts Institute’s top of the range Funktion One sound system.
