Monday 21st March

Art Club & Curry -1950’s Special / Milgi / 7pm Start / £5 (Book Now)
In theme with the Vintage Generation we’re decoupage-ing it up in a 1950’s stylie – think Vintage kitsch, formica, frills, doilies, fabrics, lacquer and of course Elvis. If you have something in mind that you’d like to specifically transform then bring it along, otherwise it’s all materials included.

Tuesday 22nd March

1960‘s Folky Vegan Feast / Milgi / 8pm-10pm / £15 (Booking Essential)
We’ve all heard about it – the Microbiotic food trend that was big in the 60’s, now you get to experience it for yourselves. It’s all the rage at the moment, so make the most of this Macrobiotic raw food feast. Psychedelic, folk and a whole lot of Hippy flower power will guide you though this one off foodie feast.

1950‘s Come Dancing Special / Cardiff Arts Institute / 8pm-12pm / £4
A one off Lindy Hop and Jive special learn how to dance in a friendly environment all abilities and groups welcome. We have the amazing Skiffle band ‘Railroad Bill’ (described by Lonnie Donnegan himself as ‘bloody good’) alongside other guest DJ’s for a night of dancing, fun and vintage beats and treats. (40s/50s dress encouraged but not essential)

Wednesday 23rd March

Dr Disco (1970s) / Milgi / 8pm-12pm / Free
Tonight we celebrate the style, glamour and pampering of the 1970’s including a vintage cocktail bar with special vintage cocktails, generation hairstyles, “Lush Retro Beauty Bar” Fashion Photography and uber-disco tunes to get you in the mood. Think mini, maxi, spandex, double knit, glitter, Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, roller skates and mirror balls.

Thursday 24th March

1980‘s Supperclub / Milgi / 8pm-10pm / £15 – 4 Courses (Booking Essential)
Your monthly one stop destination for social feasting takes us on a trip down memory lane to the 1980’s. Remembered for it’s music, fashion but not it’s food. Supperclub takes you on a journey to that very place with its special twists. Vol-au-vents! Avocado vinaigrette! Fondue! Yoghurt! Pineapple & cheese on cocktail sticks! Get your shoulder pads out and step back in time to a decade we can’t help but love.

1970‘s Reggae Britannia Special w/ DJ Derek / Cardiff Arts Institute / 8pm-2am / £4

Friday 25th March

Generation Exhibition Launch / Milgi / 8pm-12pm / Free
Take a word like “Generation” for example and re-define what that means in a contemporary sense. Outcome – An multi-dimensional underground exhibition set in and around Milgi’s factory walls and an Artsy Party for all you generational Andy Warhol types. Expect photography, installation, painting, performance and video art.

For all you foodies there will be a taster menu on offer for a bargain price £12 where you get to try a large cross section of the menu. With Northern Soul to keep you firmly in the Vintage vibe, all in all It’s going to be a very interesting evening – whatever floats your boat.

Back to the Future Fridays / Cardiff Arts Institute / 10PM-4AM / £2/4
As part of the Vintage Generation festival, our Brain Juice residents dig in the crates unleashing some of their influences, from Hip-hop to UK Garage, Jungle and Old Skool Rave. We also have Shoreditch’s finest wordsmith Mikill Pane and Louis Boston drops a live set over some classic beats. Kaptin / DJ Comfort / Esoterra / Orange Elvis plus live sets from Mikill Pane and Louis Boston.

Brace yourselves for an afternoon of fun, fun, fun that we have lined up for you. Make your way to our yurt dressed for afternoon tea – 1920’s style. We have Lampshade Burlesque, Siren Sister Dj’s(TBC) and high tea with cream scones and cucumber sandwiches – this ladies and gentlemen will be an afternoon of social decadence and art deco dreams truly inspired for you to enjoy with friends and acquaintances.
