We’ve been fans of Penarth raised singer Pete Lawrie for some time now so we’re more than excited to be throwing him a Launch Party for his stunning debut album, ‘A Little Brighter’ out on Field Recordings / Island Records in May. A talented multi musician, singer songwriter, whose music is a healthy blend of Blues, Folk, Soul and Rock (and even Hip-hop with some great collaborations alongside rappers Ralph Rips Sh*t, Shadz and Speech Debelle and a side project covering tracks by Jay Z and The Roots amongst others) sung with heaps of emotion and more than a sprinkling of husky gravel tones. Since his last show here, he has been on tour with Corrine Bailey Rae, opened for Paolo Nutini at the Royal Albert Hall and performed at Glastonbury, Isle Of Wight Festival and BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, so we can expect an exciting homecoming show for sure. There will also be some guest bands and DJs to help make sure the album is launched as a far as it can possibly go.
